The Secret Book of Discoveries is a fully reimagined version of my earlier novel Briana and the Saxon Warrior. While the core story and beloved characters remain, this new edition offers a richer, more expansive journey. With newly developed plotlines, deeper historical texture, and subtle mythological threads that echo throughout the evolving The Ancient Book of Dumnonia series, this version is around 20% longer than the original.
Why the rewrite? As the series grew, so too did my vision for its world and its characters. I wanted The Secret Book of Discoveries to better reflect the scope and emotional complexity of what’s to come, and to lay firmer groundwork for future books—including Journeys Into the Enchanted Codex and beyond. This revised edition strengthens those connections, adding nuance and resonance without altering the heart of the story.
That said, readers who enjoyed the original version don’t need to revisit this one to continue on—but you may discover a few new moments, motifs, and meanings that deepen the experience.
